Who is responsible for your data

What we collect

Visit data, with your consent. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 records which pages you view, how you arrived, your device and browser type, your approximate location (derived from your IP address) and a cookie identifier. We use it to see which articles are read and to improve the site.

Messages you send us. If you write to hello@cantswitchoff.com, we receive your email address and what you wrote.

Survey answers. If you take our survey, we receive your answers and the email address you give us.

Purchase details. If you buy Hypnagogia-Pass, Gumroad shares with us the details we need to serve your order, such as your email address.

Technical logs. Our website provider, Hostinger, keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and time of request) to run and secure the site.

We do not ask you to create an account on cantswitchoff.com, and we do not take payments on it.

Why we use it, and on what basis

Analytics: your consent, which you give or refuse in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time.

Replying to messages: our legitimate interest in answering you.

Survey: your consent, which you give by submitting the form. We use your answers to research how people sleep and relax, and to help us develop future wellness products. We use your email address to contact you about the survey. If you tick the separate box on the survey form, we will also use your email address to tell you about our products and send you marketing messages; every such message includes a way to unsubscribe. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

Purchases: performing our agreement with you, and our legal duties under accounting and tax law.

Running and securing the site: our legitimate interest in keeping the site working and safe.

Cookies

Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them in the cookie banner. If you decline, we do not run Google Analytics for your visit.

Who receives your data

Google (Google Analytics), for visit data. Google may process data outside the European Economic Area and relies on safeguards such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

Hostinger, which hosts the site.

Gumroad, only if you choose to buy Hypnagogia-Pass. Purchases happen on members.cantswitchoff.com, which is operated through Gumroad. Gumroad handles your payment and account details under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not see your card details.

We do not sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

Analytics data: 14 months.

Messages: 24 months after the last message.

Survey answers and email address: 24 months, or until you withdraw your consent.

Email address for product news and marketing: until you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent.

Purchase records: as long as accounting and tax law require.

Your rights

You may ask us for access to your data, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use these rights, write to hello@cantswitchoff.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia (Informacijski pooblaščenec).

Children

CantSwitchOff is written for adults and is not directed at children.
